1996 Mystic Cobra #370 for sale SOLD!

Just passed 46,000 miles, one owner!

Summary:

Dual-purpose street/competition car, that is also a rare Mystic Cobra #370 of 2000 built. Fully street legal, but throughly prepped for autocross.

Full Griggs suspension: Tubular K-Member, caster/camber plates, Lower control arms, torque arm, panhard bar, adjustable ride height coilovers with Koni adjustable shocks and very high rate springs all around.

4.30 rear end gears.

Schroth 4 point harness. (autocross appropriate, but probably not good enough for road racing.)  Factory belts are still in place for street use.

Completely unmodified engine has never been open. Full synthetic oil changes since new.

Interior removal and suspension mods achieved over 300 pounds of weight reduction. Some of that weight is now returned with the interior partially reinstalled.

Car has countless regional autocross wins and many championships. Has been competing in CP, but is now CAM-T legal as well.

Could easily be modified further for more serious competition, or could easily be made very street friendly.

Power windows locks and mirrors, air conditioning and heat, and even cruise control are all still fully functional.

Small tire trailer and Cobra R wheels with autocross tires also available.

Price:

Asking $10,500

Here's how I came up with that number.

If it was an average 1996 Mystic Cobra, I'd be asking $12,000.

With $8,000 in suspension upgrades, I'd add $2,000 to the asking price, putting it at $14,000

Considering the condition I have to take off at least $3000, landing me at under $11,000.

This being such an unusual offering, it's a very hard car to price, so I obviously have to be flexible on the sale price.  Don't be shy about making an offer - The less you're willing to pay, the longer you may have to wait, but it could happen.

Condition:

This is not a show car, but there is no rust or peeling paint anywhere.  There are some stone chips and scratches, and the clearcoat could use a good polishing, or maybe a respray, but I don't think the Mystic color coat would need to be redone.

Mechanically it's still working great.  The only code is a P0411 which is "Secondary Air Injection System Incorrect Flow Detected" and replacing the air pump itself didn't clear it, so it's in the valve or hoses.  The low coolant light goes on at temp even though the coolant isn't low, so I think the little float is waterlogged.  Finally, the SRS light is lit since the airbags had been removed and are not connected.

Included:

The stock ring and pinion gears, original steering wheel with airbag, and rear seatbelts are all included.

I even still have the original paperwork, certificates, and brochure from Ford.

In the next few shots you can see the door ding where my co-driver slid through the finish lights when the suspension setup wasn't dialed in yet.  The panhardbar mount actually broke loose because it hadn't been tightened down sufficiently, and the car didn't handle right the reast of that day.  I got a replacement bracket and had no further issues.

Update:

I have reinstalled much of the interior, making this basically a rear seat delete car now, rather than a fully stripped interior. There is still no stereo, and not everything is perfect, but this makes it much more street friendly than it has been in a long time.

Here are the earlier pictures of bow it looked before I reinstalled the interior panels. These also show how it is comepletely free of any rust anywhere.

Here's a couple of closeups of the ding.
